Colby's first Easter

Happy Easter everyone!
Colby has been doing wonderfully as of late. He's started to eat rice cereal. Thus far it's been two days since we've introduced it to him and knock on wood, he seems to be tolerating it pretty well. He's only having about a teaspoon or so of it a day, but it's a start. I was nervous given his issues with his belly that introducing something new would just create havoc. We'll continue to increase it every couple days or so.
He's also FINALLY starting to consistently sleep more at night. Last night I stuffed him full of formula and some cereal and he feel asleep on me around 10:30 or so. I carried him into his crib around 11 and he didn't wake up until almost 6:30 this morning!!! YIPPIEEEEE!!!!!! Boy does that make a difference for Tracey and I being able to get some good sleep!
Today was my birthday and I must say it I did enjoy being a true daddy this birthday. I can't really describe it, but being a parent really does enrich your life. : ) I'm sure all you parents out there understand this.
The weather in CT is gradually getting warmer so we're looking forward to venturing out with Colby more. He went grocery shopping with me yesterday and was wonderful. I plopped his car seat in the main part of the carriage so that the carriage acted like a cage keeping excited people from reaching in to touch him. We're still very cautious about exposing him to RSV.
And on that note just today he's started to act a bit stuffy and is coughing a bit. It could be nothing or it could be something to be alarmed about. We're going to keep an eye on him and watch him closely over the next couple days.
His weight has plateaued a bit. He's still just shy of 11 pounds. He's been a picky eater this past week, not really eating as much as he usually does. Though it's not consistent.....one day he'll eat like a pig, the next we can't get him to finish his bottles. Again, just something we're going to keep our eye on.
I got some great new filters for the camera as gifts today so I'm excited to start messing around with them. I'll post some pictures in the next day or so. Ow...and I'm working on getting some video of the Colbster as well.

Such good news. "Normal" parenting.

On our honeymoon my wife and I went snorkeling. She had never gone before, I was registered and a SCUBA diver. The ocean was really choppy when we went. She was so panicked about the whole thing and had trouble getting the hang of it. I helped her as much as I could and soon she was better but still struggling and obviously not having fun. I calmly told her to put the snorkel in, hold her breath, and look down. She did and a few seconds later looked up with a surprised look on her face.

She had spent so much time worrying about not drowning that she completely missed the amazing reef below her.

I'm glad you can worry a little less about drowning.
